Our very first e-Collar was "The Judge" by TriTronics

1/1/1990

The Judge was a durable unit and we used it for many years. Unfortunately for our young dogs the stimulation levels lack much differentiation. The collar basically had 3 levels, hot, hot and hot! The transmitter and collar were heavy and bulky.

Innotek was a game Changer!

1/1/1995

The Innotek collar allowed us to run launchers and auto backers along with the e-collar! The transmitter and collar were lighter in weight and had pretty good range. The Innotek Bird Launchers were the first ones we learned to use and we literally wore them out. I still use the auto-backer for training my young dogs today and it works like a charm even though it is over 25 years old! We used other Innotek collars and bark collars with great success. When the company sold the quality of the units went to heck.

We haven't needed bark collars in recent years thanks to a continual evolution of our training techniques and kennel management. We don't use bark collars any more!

Beepers, Vibration, Tone - we incorporated them into our training and handling during hunts.

1/1/2015

Beepers, Vibration and Tone buttons now all have a place in our training and dog handling practices! I was taught by my mentor and teacher George Hickox to use these tools properly in training. I train with DT collars since their soft stim levels and jump options give me instant results with out taking my eyes off the dog. I hunt with Dogta Track and Beep and it is the most durable reliable indestructible collar we have ever used!

GPS Changed Everything!

1/1/2015

With reliable easy to use GPS equiped e-collars we have peace of mind now when we turn dogs loose! We are on our 4th generation of GPS/training collar combination e-collars. Though the first renditions had some glitches and design flaws the new models seemed to be getting better and better. We have worn out multiple sets of Garmin collars and are currently enjoying a Garmin TriTronics Alpha and the TT15 Mini collar receiver which has a great compact size very suitable for a brittany.
